Make your job an adventure
We don’t know what your Monday looks like, but this is ours.
Across Topas Explorer Group we work with two types of guides:
- Trip Leaders, who travel with our group tours around the world
- Local Guides in Greenland, who live in Ilulissat and work with our guests on boat tours, hikes and experiences in Disko Bay.
Different roles in different parts of the world but the responsibility is the same. You are the one who keeps the group together, keeps things moving and makes sure everyone has a good and safe experience
If you enjoy being outdoors, working with people and taking responsibility, this might be the job for you.

Meet Sofie
“Summer is simply better in Kalaallit Nunaat. I get to work outdoors in the world’s most incredible nature with like-minded people. There’s nothing more rewarding than that”
Sofie works with us every summer while completing her degree in communications in Denmark. She has travelled and sailed around the world, but fell in love with Greenland, where guiding gives her the chance to use and improve her communication skills.
Guide – Ilulissat

Guide in Kalaallit Nunaat
Our guides in Greenland work primarily with Disko Line Explorer in Ilulissat. Your days are spent outdoors either on boat trips between icebergs, whale safaris, glacier excursions or hikes around the town and fiord.
You welcome guests, prepare for the tour and help change plans when the weather or ice decides otherwise. A big part of the work is also simply being present and making sure guests feel safe and taken care of.
Local knowledge is the biggest strength, and we prioritize guides who know Greenland. But we also have Danish guides who show a strong interest in Greenland and want to work in the Arctic.
The job is seasonal and mainly runs through the summer months from June to September.
Meet Helle
“I love exploring mountains and raw nature, and sharing authentic local experiences where all the senses come alive.”
Helle guides hiking and cycling trips in Italy and Albania, combining her love for nature, culture, and community. She enjoys creating experiences where everyone can participate, regardless of skill, while drawing on her curiosity for local traditions, food, and active lifestyles.
Trip Leader
Being a Trip Leader
Our Trip Leaders travel with Topas groups across the world. It can be anything from hiking trips and cycling tours to cross-country ski adventures.
Different countries, different groups and different challenges. But your role stays the same: getting everyone safely through the journey and making sure they have a great experience.
You keep track of things for the guests and make sure everything goes according to plan. Even when that plan changes – and it most likely will.
As a trip leader, you also help create a strong sense of community in the groups during meals, breaks and along the way.
Some days everything runs perfectly. Other days require quick thinking and calm leadership. You coordinate with local partners and guide the group through the program.

Meet Jens
“It kinda feels like an adventure race – just without the race number. It’s not about finishing first, but about making sure everyone get’s a great experience”
Jens works as a Trip Leader on tours ranging from cross-country skiing in Norway to hiking in Croatia or cycling in Italy. He initially joined us because of his background in adventure racing and uses those skills when he guides groups on great adventures.
Trip Leader
The guide mentality
Our guides come from all backgrounds, ages, and cultures, but share curiosity, responsibility, and respect for the places they work.
Some come from adventure sports, others from tourism, and all bring the skills to lead groups and create memorable experiences.
The guide role is flexible. It can be a summer job, part-time, full-time, a gap year, or a break from your regular work.
If you love adventure and the outdoors, this is the job for you.
A world of opportunity
Topas Explorer Group consists of several companies, which means there are many opportunities to grow across destinations, roles, and departments.
We value initiative and people who want to learn, improve, and take ownership of their work. If you find your place with us, you will have room to develop both personally and professionally. Whether it is in the restaurant, on another destination, or in a new role within the Topas world.
