About Topas Ecolodge

How it all started…

Topas Ecolodge began as a sustainable tourism project in 2003 by Topas Travel, partnering with a local family. Inspired by Sapa’s natural beauty and local materials, they constructed the lodge from durable white granite, mirroring Sapa’s Notre Dame Cathedral. Built without modern amenities, it opened in 2005, blending Danish minimalist design with Vietnamese elements. Over the years, the lodge has maintained its eco-friendly ethos, incorporating Nordic interior principles and using locally sourced materials. The venture reflects a deep connection to the region and a focus on responsible tourism.
